This is a picture of the female vent. Notice the scales under the slit area,
are much smaller than the male. Some females will also have two dark
black dots to either side of vent area. She does not.

Some Species can be extremely difficult to sex until much older. C. vestigium can not be sexed as hatchlings, sometimes not until many months later. Males will show some darkening in gular area, (throat) some orange coloration in neck or sides. But all in all it's usually a waiting game even for the experienced breeder to be able to sex youngsters. *Also C. dickersonae can be harder to sex. |
